It was still quite cool yesterday afternoon and was surprised to find a Small Copper in the grass, it looks to be fairly new but was struggling to fly and took to my hand, possibly to absorb some heat.
We have had a lot of Goldfinch at the feeders and we noticed one with coloured rings, Colin from the South Walney reserve has confirmed it was one they ringed 9th October 2012.
