Warblers etc.
Posted by Ian Beautiful sunny spring morning,willow warblers singing everywhere (see pic).Also spotted six swallows and three house martins.Lots of shelduck drakes chasing potential mates around. The whole of the reserve was alive with birds singing,lovely to see and watch.
Today I was watching a Lapwing carrying out it’s aerobatic display and calling at the same time and couldn’t resist taking a few shots. As can be seen from one of the photos, as it was flying upside down it was also calling but it’s head was twisted through 180 degrees. Bri
There appear to be more Skylarks around this year especially over the old tip and yesterday I watched one rise and climb up to quite a height singing all the way to the top, and on it’s rapid fall took a sequence of shots, see the results. Bri
Saturday 12th April
