Hi, usual collection at the feeder, but today we had a long tailed tit, we had seen it near to the field two days ago and we think it is nesting there abouts. Went to check the ponds and were casually strolling down by the long pond watching what I thought was the cob mute swan keeping his hostilities up towards the canada geese. The canadas had six goslings with them. Daydreaming a bit and then I heard a honk honk..hang on that was the swan now mutes don’t honk. Put my binoculars on to it and to my surprise it was a whooper who must have put down on the pond for a rest. The cob mute was close to the nest and the pen was looking around…..has she hatched her brood? Time will tell.
