Wednesday 11 July

Last week I posted a picture of an Oyster Catchers nest with one egg the pic today shows it buried under a pile of sand. Using an discarded tent as a sand sledge is not very helpful.
While looking at the mess, a Grayling landed see pic, hopefully tomorrow with the forecasted warm day, there will be a few more.
Along the west side of the long pond the Wild Leeks are now sprouting, also lots on the large Island but at the moment with the high water you require wellies.
A common pink flower, blooming at the moment, is the common Centaury, see pic.
Lastly, on one of the smaller ponds there were lots of Pond Skaters and Whirligigs.
