Since the start of feeding this year the bullfinch have been in short supply, regularly only seeing one lone male but today two pair appeared in addition to the male.
With all the rain in Cumbria, we have been very fortunate, the reserve was low in water before the rains started, which accounts for the quick absorption of any standing surface water. The pond levels are still low and have a long way to go before they attain the levels in 2012.
