Taddie Correction
In the previous blogs we said the large number of tadpoles in pond 17 belonged to frogs but yesterday we learned from John Buckley ARC conservation officer that they are Common Toad, apparently it’s there common practice to swim in shoals whereas, the frog tadpole prefers to be on it’s own. Sorry for any misunderstanding.
Today we saw the short eared owl again, it is very difficult to get a shot coming at you, they are normally off in the opposite direction, today we slightly lucky but it was quite a long shot.
A Sedge Warbler was giving it all just near the feeders, happy with it’s lot in life.
As we returned to the cars a Kestral hovered just above.
