Monday 9th July

This warm spell is hatching lots of Meadow Browns, still a few Large Skippers and an odd Common Blue but I was surprised to see a Small Pearl Bordered Fritillary in the usual area, it’s about three weeks since the first one was spotted.
The Four Spot Dragonflies are still about but looking a bit threadbare, see pic, now waiting for the Hawkers to show themselves.
The Dark Green Fritillaries have been see by Ian and Lew feeding on the tall thistles.
Had a walk around the fields off Cow Tarn Lane and there is a beautiful display of Water Lillies on the pond near the road, see pic.
