Thursday 6th June

We had another walk through the rough terrain where the Fritillary are normally found without success, it could be just the cold spell that is holding them up, we will keep on looking.

There was unusual activity on the fishing pond this morning, a young Coot was lost and it seemed to think that it’s parent was a Little Grebe but every time it approached, the Grebe viciously attacked the youngster. There was an adult Coot on the pond but it never responded to the cries of the youngster, when we left it was still calling for it’s parent bird.
