Thursday 2nd August

I was up a bit earlier today to try and catch the Barn Owls at home and there are still two young in the nest but should be fledged any day.
Well a much warmer day and it brought out the Meadow Browns, Gatekeepers and Common Darters by the dozens. Bob also noticed a large dragonfly but it would not settle, managed to take some shots and it turned out to be a Common Hawker.
Further round the walk we came across a couple of young Whitethroats.
In the afternoon I took a walk around Mill Lane pond. The last couple of times I have heard something plash into the water but never quick enough to catch a glimpse, but this time I was lucky see pic of Terrapin, there are two in the pond but only managed pic of one.
On the pond off Cows Tarn lane there a two Brown Hawkers but still could not manage to take a pic.
